Spark Centre and 360incentives to Open Investment Accelerator Centre

In partnership with 360incentives, Spark Innovation Centre announced today plans to open an Investment Accelerator Centre location in 360incentives’ upcoming strategic Whitby, Ontario location. This new centre will be established in the heart of old Downtown Whitby in the heritage building known as R.A. Sennett Public School.

Constructed in 1922, The R.A. Sennett Public School is a landmark in the neighbourhood and an important heritage asset for the Town of Whitby. Designed in a Classical Revival style, it is an excellent example of scholastic architecture constructed in Ontario in the early 20th century.

This new location will provide Spark Centre immediate access to one of Canada’s fastest growing technology companies, 360 Incentives and a newly formed private equity company, CityFlow. The proximity to 360 Incentives and CityFlow will provide an optimized approach to obtaining angel investment for Spark Centre’s technology and innovation focused clients.

Timing on the new location is still under review but plans are well underway between the various organizations.

“We are very excited to have a secured a location as prestigious as the heritage .R. A. Sennett Public School,” said Jason Atkins, CEO of 360incentives. “The location offers us approximating to Whitby’s vibrant downtown, relaxing green space, beautiful residential surroundings and access to the historical Centennial Building. The new location will serve as our global headquarters and allow us to consolidate over 150 local staff spread throughout down town Whitby.”

“Co-locating with successful, passionate entrepreneurs is a critical element for any new start-up,” said Dennis Croft, President & CEO of Spark Centre. “Proximity to 360incentives creates a unique environment for our early stage clients to see and learn what success looks like and the commitment required to get there.”

“Council is excited that 360incentives and the Spark Innovation Centre will be opening an Investment Accelerator in downtown Whitby. This is an exciting development and one that will be very important in the revitalization of downtown Whitby,” said Town of Whitby Mayor Don Mitchell. “We believe in the power of successful downtowns to transform communities, and in the strong connection between quality of place and economic prosperity. I am convinced we have the opportunity here in Whitby to be that place and unlock that prosperity.”
