With so many amazing places, it was impossible to list them all. So we’ve narrowed the list down to our Top Five Places in Durham Region for Cool Cocktails. Read on for our top picks!
LOS CABOS CANTINA & GRILL – Whitby, Ontario
With its Mexican/beach resort inspired décor (think of a mix of sugar skulls, iguanas and surfer vibes) and live entertainment, Los Cabos makes you feel like you’re away on vacation. And with cocktails like ‘Cadillac Margaritas’, ‘Electric Lemonade’ , ‘Mucho Margaritas’ and ‘Reggae Sunsplash’, you get a little taste away from home too. Our favourite? The ‘Cowabunga’: a cocktail that’s half Pina Colada and half Strawberry Daiquiri in the same glass!
THE YARDBIRD – Bowmanville, Ontario
Combine casual comfort with French flair and you have The Yardbird — a restaurant and bar in downtown Bowmanville that offers everything from shredded coq au vin on brioche and truffle Parmesan popcorn to cocktails that make your mouth water — like the ‘Poolside Day Dream’ and ‘Out of the Woods’. But the favourite among the Spark Centre team is the ‘Royal Flush’: 1800 Silver Tequila and Grand Marnier blended with fresh squeezed grapefruit and lemon juice and topped with macerated strawberries!
SLABTOWN – Uxbridge, Ontario
Slabtown is another favourite of the Spark Team. A family-owned cidery and orchard, surrounded by forest, trails and rolling fields, Slabtown offers a wide variety of ciders made from Ontario-grown ingredients like Ontario-grown hops, apples, cherries, black currents, mint cucumber and more. The favourite among our team however is the ‘Slushy Ciders’ made from cider blends like Legendary Cherry, Black Currant and more!
BAXTERS LANDING – Oshawa, Ontario
Named after one of the oldest bakeries founded in Oshawa back in 1890, Baxters Landing blends a rustic yet eclectic atomosphere with delicious eats and cocktails to die for. From cocktails like Dragon Fruit Pisco Sour, Edlerflower Cucumber Spritz and Sangria Roja to delicious hangover cures like its Gin and Tonic mixed with Brazilian soursop and absolutely insane Caesars — they’re literally a meal in a glass.
MANANTLER BREWERY – Bowmanville, Ontario
One of the pioneer craft breweries in Durham Region, Manantler prides itself on brewing over 120 different varieties of great tasting beer. So why has Spark Centre included it as one of our top places for cocktails? Because aside from a wide variety of offerings for beer enthusiasts they also offer something truly unique — beer cocktails! The team at Spark Centre are over the moon for Manantler’s Liquid Sunshine but we’re also quite fond of their Beer Caesar too!
