The Amplify Program, accelerates and scales innovative Eastern Ontario companies selling into both business-to-business (B2B) or business-to-consumer (B2C) markets, regional, nationally or internationally. Business owners and their leadership team have a unique opportunity to gain access to seasoned entrepreneurs to create a tailored and actionable growth plan, designed to address specific growth challenges. Launch Lab has been facilitating the delivery of the Amplify program, across most of Eastern Ontario since 2019. Partnering with Spark Centre, Launch Lab has expanded access to the Amplify program, creating opportunity for businesses located from Durham to Hawkesbury.

In 2020 Spark Centre and Launch Lab, two of Ontario’s Regional Innovation Centres, came together to launch the Eastern Ontario Innovation Corridor (EOIC) initiative. Working together to support the recognition of the region as a leading innovation district within Canada. Within this collaborative environment, the Amplify program creates a framework for growth and economic sustainability for the region, through supporting leadership teams as they plan out their future growth and expansion strategies.

Your business utilizes a strong technology and/or innovative component

Post-revenue of $1MM or higher (Tier 1) or $5MM or higher (Tier 2)

Committed to high growth and/or successful succession planning outcomes

Management team in place or needed

Business is based in Eastern Ontario

What are the expectations to participate?

  • The EOIC Lead will schedule a meeting to support the business owner meeting with a seasoned and experienced Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) who will facilitate discussion with the business owner and his/her leadership to identify the top challenges and/or priorities to be address over the 6 month engagement. The business owner and his/her leadership team will meet monthly with an assigned EIR team.
  • The client and EIR lead are responsible for setting the timing, and frequency of meeting cadence. Program participants may be referred to possible “doer’s” if required for consideration.
  • EIRs and clients determine at the conclusion of each meeting the required actions to be complete before next meeting and establish a defined program focus, with agreed upon key deliverables, within a customized Statement of Work (SOW).
  • The business owner and their leadership team are responsible for all business decisions.
  • Over the course of the 6-month program business owners and their leadership team will participate in a quarterly business review, supported and facilitated by the EIR Team.
  • Monthly metrics are agreed upon and tracked and the client is accountable for achieving their monthly goals; EIRs to assist in goal setting.
  • The EIRs, and EOIC and Client Services Team o er advisory and support services to make your Amplify Program experience positive.The Client Service team will provide direction regarding payment/invoicing and the required reporting requirements. Business owners agree to provide information as requested in a timely fashion.
  • Meetings will be within the business owners place of business and/or EOIC may provide alternative meeting space if required.
