Entrepreneurs from far and wide are considering moving their headquarters, teams and families across the world to set up shop in Canada. And our Pioneer Program is the newest way for innovators to learn about life and business on this side of the world.
The Pioneer Program began in November 2019. It’s a two-week cohort-based soft-landing program that is designed to introduce immigrating startups with technology and innovation solutions to the Canadian way of doing business. Through the Pioneer Program, participants engage in a robust schedule of programming devoted to market acceleration. Subjects include workshops on business law, intellectual property, employment rights, financing, investment sales, marketing and life in Ontario. The program also includes meetings with industry experts and provides opportunities to experience what Durham Region has to offer through events and regional tours. Due to the pandemic in 2020, the Pioneer Program has been successfully running virtually and our Pioneers couldn’t be happier.
“The objective is to build a pipeline of high-growth startups and scale-ups from global jurisdictions and attract intellectual property, create high-paying jobs in Ontario and diversity exports” – Nova Oliphant, International Client Management, Globalization — Pioneer Program
This week, we successfully kicked off our September Cohort made up of over 40 entrepreneurs from Iran, Vietnam and China!
