Spark Centre is proud to celebrate the graduation of Cohort 3 of our Landing Pad Accelerator Program, marking another milestone in supporting high-potential entrepreneurs as they build, validate, and scale innovative businesses across eastern Ontario.
Hosted at Durham College, an in-kind partner of the program, the graduation event brought together founders, advisors, partners, and ecosystem leaders to recognize the achievements of a diverse and driven cohort.
Supported by the Government of Canada through Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), the Landing Pad Accelerator Program is designed to empower newcomer and women entrepreneurs within the Environment, Energy, and Engineering (EN3) sectors. Cohort 3 reflects this mission, bringing together a strong mix of founders tackling real-world challenges through innovation and technology.
Participants advanced their businesses across industries such as fintech, healthcare, artificial intelligence, workforce solutions, and consumer products. Companies like Kavodax are improving cross-border payments through blockchain technology, while ventures such as Solomind Technologies and Virtual POCT are enhancing healthcare delivery through AI-driven platforms. Others, including NexScale, Yadag, and ProfiVise, are leveraging artificial intelligence to streamline operations, improve decision-making, and address labour and productivity challenges. At the same time, companies like Vivirion Solutions and ParentSOS are focused on improving accessibility, affordability, and quality of care for families and communities.
Together, these founders represent a new generation of entrepreneurs, bringing diverse perspectives, global experience, and a shared commitment to solving meaningful problems.
Throughout the program, founders engaged deeply in customer discovery, refining their value propositions and aligning their solutions with real market needs. Many progressed from early-stage concepts toward validation, pilot development, and go-to-market readiness through structured advisory support and access to specialized resources. This support enabled them to strengthen their branding, develop minimum viable products, and prepare for commercialization.
A key focus of the program was supporting founders in developing and protecting intellectual property, helping to build competitive and defensible businesses. At the same time, companies began laying the groundwork for growth by expanding their teams and preparing to create new employment opportunities, aligning with core program deliverables tied to job creation and economic impact.
As a result, Cohort 3 companies made meaningful progress in advancing product development, launching pilot programs, securing early partnerships, and strengthening their technical capabilities. Many are now moving toward commercialization, with pilots underway across sectors such as healthcare, fintech, and SaaS, with plans to expand into new markets and customer segments.
These achievements highlight the impact of targeted advisory support, funding, and ecosystem connections in accelerating early-stage business growth while contributing to broader economic development.
Cohort 3 reflects the core mission of the Landing Pad Accelerator Program, to foster inclusive economic growth by supporting underrepresented founders and enabling them to build scalable, high-impact businesses. By supporting both intellectual property development and job creation alongside business growth, the program continues to strengthen Canada’s innovation ecosystem and position diverse founders for long-term success.
While graduation marks the completion of the program, it is only the beginning of the next phase for these entrepreneurs. With strong foundations in place, Cohort 3 companies are well-positioned to continue building, scaling, and contributing to economic growth across the region and beyond.
