About This Masterclass
Government organizations are key client targets for many startups to do business as they present tremendous opportunities for many reasons. But most startups find it to be a very frustrating and lengthy process to achieve success and most eventually abandon the process feeling disappointed and a waste of time. This workshop, led by Ivano Labricciosa, has been developed to better understand how to secure a government contract by understanding the common challenges and how best to overcome these challenges to get to successful outcome.

About Ivano Labricciosa
Ivano Labricciosa is a proven executive leader with utility industry experience spanning over 30 years. Ivano leverages his industry knowledge, leadership skills and change management experiences to effect sustained business performance improvement throughout the organization.
In his latest assignment as the President and CEO of Oshawa Power and Utilities Corporation (Oshawa Power), he was instrumental in supporting the energy and communication service needs of Oshawa, Durham Region, and parts of the GTA. As CEO of Oshawa Power, Ivano played a pivotal role in the overall strategic planning of the company and its subsidiaries involved in energy distribution, energy generation, and telecom ventures. His background in engineering, business development, and strategic planning combined with his international experience with alternative and renewable energy brings innovative leadership to not only Oshawa Power, but to Ontario’s energy sector.
Ivano has also held successful executive roles at Toronto Hydro as the Vice President of Asset Management and the Executive Vice President of Business Development.
In Asset Management, he was instrumental in securing Ontario Energy Board approvals for the largest Capital Investment program in the corporation’s history.
In Business Development, he was a key proponent in smart grid and clean energy investment as well as the successful divestiture of its unregulated Telecom and other energy asset businesses enabling the financial support for the major regulated investments.
Ivano holds a Bachelor of Engineering Science degree from Western University, a Master of Engineering degree from the University of Toronto, and a Master of Business Administration from Queen's University. He is also a graduate of the Directors College at McMaster University DeGroote School of Business.
In addition to leadership experience and Board skills, Ivano volunteers his time to sit on Boards and Committees that advance community and industry interests. Currently, Ivano serves on the Boards of Parkwood Estates National Historic Site, Ontario Infrastructure Health & Safety Association, and the Ontario Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition, he serves on advisory Boards for Enerza, Liberas, iGen Technologies, Kevares Autonomous Services, Ontario Tech University, the Spark Centre and Ethical AI Inc.
In the past, Ivano has served on the Boards for the Greater Oshawa Chamber of Commerce, Electrical Distributors Association, Canadian Solar Industry Association, Municipal Electric Association, Reciprocal Insurance Exchange, Oshawa Downtown Business Improvement Association, and as an advisory Board member for University of Toronto Engineering Faculty, Ryerson University Centre for Urban Energy, Canadian Electric Association, and the Georgian College Engineering Technology Program.
