MaRS Names Evelyn Allen as One of Twenty-one Tech Entrepreneurs to Watch in 2021

Last month, MaRS shone a spotlight on twenty-one innovation leaders who will impact 2021 in a huge way.

And Evelyn Allen with Evercloak is among them.

If the name Evelyn Allen rings a bell it should. In 2018, Allen won the Ignite Pitch Competition in the OPG Environment & Electrification Category.

Based in Kitchener, Ontario, Evelyn Allen is Co-Founder and CEO of Evercloak — whose technology is addressing the world’s most pressing environmental challenges. It serves as an economical and energy efficient manufacturing process for continuous coating of single layer nanomaterials over large areas. By re-thinking the way in which promising 2D nanomaterials are processed, Evercloak ensures that they are integrated into products in both an economical and scalable way. Currently Evercloak is preparing to accelerate its membrane manufacturing process to pilot-scale production.

Evelyn Allen is a professional engineer with 15 years of experience leading the design and commissioning of industrial on-site wastewater treatment systems, implementing large innovative government-funded initiatives focused on advancing agri-food and water technologies, and securing strategic corporate partnerships for the University of Waterloo with the Cleantech sector. She is also a finalist in the million-dollar Women in Cleantech Challenge.
