On June 4th, Durham RTDS, in collaboration with AVIN, Spark Centre, Durham College, Ontario Tech University and the Automotive Centre of Excellence, kicked off the first event in the Driving Innovation Series — an exciting new event series that connects startups and SMEs in the EV and C/AV sector with industry leaders, municipalities and communities in Durham Region, Northumberland County and Eastern Ontario!
From the positive and negative impacts that autonomous and electric vehicles currently have on policing and how technology in the C/AV sector is helping with community safety, to the investments “smart cities” should be making now, why Durham Region is the one of the best places for tech startups to set up shop and the expected challenges that C/AV adoption may face in “smart” communities — “Smart and Safe Cities” was an incredibly engaging and thought-provoking discussion among panelists and attendees alike!
